This is another Schiel's branch like in South Wilkes-Barre. It has the same items, similar prices, and layout. It has a big parking lot, easy access, and many checkout lines with real cashiers. The quality of groceries is good and I recommend it as much as other stores like Gerrity's.

Great staff, wonderful people. They make u feel like home. I especially would like to point out one of the shelf stockers, not sure of his name, but he is there from the mornings until early evenings most days, he wears glasses, and a band around his head so they don't come off, he is always making everyone feel welcome, and he sure does make a lot friends! He sure made one outta me and my mom! I usually see him in the morning in the cereal isle. I also love our favorite checkout ladies, first gotta love her, she is in her 80's and she has a terrible tumour that can't be operated on her she comes to work everyday she is scheduled and she is always the one who rings out our groceries when we see her and we like to surprise her ,with a holiday card on Xmas or easter or thanksgiving. Or just because. Those are the things u do to make someone's day brighter, and the people that work at sheilds sure deserve it. There is also a younger girl with blonde hair with light blonde highlights that usually works behind the 15 items or less cash register or does the lottery too, she is very nice, shy at first but I got her to open up and laugh 😉✨ also the manager Jen who I can imagine keeping up

That cashier Karen at the George Avenue location was extremely unprofessional and proceeded to argue with me that she must enter the store’s number for a customer. Instacart order where the customer did NOT! I repeat did not have a card number linked to their account. This is a direct violation of the terms and policies from Instacart and the fastest way to get the shoppers account deactivated she proceeded to tell me that the manager Charmaine would agree with her which she did and she was also misinformed. I had to call the manager at the Scranton location, who also stated it’s considered theft. Shoppers are paid based off of the amount spent on the app. We are cheated if there are deals in store that affect the price of the customer’s order . Karen and Charmaine need to have a refresher training when stores like this utilize shopping App such as Instacart. I have been an Instacart shopper for over five years and never had to argue with an associate over their terms and policies of Instacart.

Over priced, produce usually moldy and obv not rotated. Their meat case, you pick a package up, like chicken and your hands get chicken juice on them- double wrap it, for God sake! The deli guys dont listen, you ask for meat to be cut thin and its thick and their salads arent good. Gerritys on San Souci, way better!
